Parent FAQs

Faith & Values

Is your studio Christian?

Yes. Our studio is intentionally Christ-centred. We believe dance is a gift from God and seek to honour Him in our teaching, class culture, choreography, music, and performances.

How is faith included in classes?

Faith is woven naturally into our environment rather than forced. This may include:

  • Encouraging Christ-like character (kindness, humility, perseverance)

  • Music and themes that are uplifting and aligned with Christian values

  • Teaching children to use their gifts for God’s glory rather than self-promotion

Do children need to be Christian to attend?

No. Families from any background are welcome, as long as they are comfortable with our Christian ethos and values. We aim to create a respectful, nurturing environment for all.

Modesty & Age-Appropriateness

How do you approach modesty in dance?

Modesty is very important to us. We are intentional about:

  • Age-appropriate choreography

  • Modest costuming and uniforms

  • Music with wholesome lyrics and themes

  • Movements that preserve innocence and dignity

Our goal is for children to feel confident, safe, and respected — never objectified.

What about music and lyrics?

All music is carefully selected to be edifying and appropriate for children. We avoid music with sexualised themes, inappropriate language, or messages that conflict with Christian values.

Are performances suitable for all ages to watch?

Yes. Our performances are family-friendly and designed to uplift and encourage audiences of all ages through meaningful storytelling and beauty.

Competition & Performance Philosophy

Do you participate in dance competitions?

No. We are a non-competitive studio.

We believe constant comparison and competition can shift the focus from growth, joy, and purpose to external validation.

How do students stay motivated without competition?

We motivate students through:

  • Personal growth and skill development

  • Creative expression

  • Meaningful performances

  • Encouragement and positive feedback

  • A supportive class community

Children are challenged to grow — but without fear of failure or comparison.

What is the purpose of your performances?

Our performances are about storytelling and meaning. They are designed to:

  • Glorify God

  • Communicate truth and beauty

  • Build confidence and teamwork

  • Serve and uplift the audience

We teach students that performing is an act of offering, not self-focus.

Practical & Family Considerations

Is your program affordable for families?

Yes. We intentionally work to keep costs accessible by offering:

  • Reasonably priced tuition

  • Simple, modest uniforms

  • Costume hire instead of mandatory purchases

We believe arts education should be a blessing, not a burden.

How do you support children emotionally and spiritually?

Our teachers are committed to nurturing each child with patience, encouragement, and care. We aim to create a safe space where children are known, valued, and supported — both as dancers and as individuals.

What kind of families is your studio best suited for?

Our studio is a good fit for families who are seeking:

  • A Christ-centred environment

  • Modest and age-appropriate dance education

  • A non-competitive, joy-filled approach

  • A focus on character, creativity, and excellence
